Marmee becomes extremely angry in Chapter Seven, after learning that most of their money has been lost by Mr. Brown. Note, she isn't angry about the money, but rather, Aunt March's desire to take Meg home with her in order to relieve some of the financial burden. She reacts to the situation by accusing her husband of supporting emancipation all while enslaving her.
