Significance of Bees

Olivia’s bees serve as a reminder of the simultaneous beauty and chaos of the surrounding world as well as a connection to her family. Throughout Olivia’s abusive relationship with Asher’s father, she lost much of who she was and was isolated from her family. When she pulls together the strength to leave him, her return to where she grew up and the hobby she shared with her father helps her to heal and grow into her new phase of life.
