The supernatural is featured prominently in Shakespeare's Macbeth. It is one of the major recurring motifs throughout the entire play. Many of the main characters suffer hallucinations. Lastly, there is the prophecy that is issued at the beginning of the play and is continually referenced throughout it as events begin to play out.
