Both Hadley and Lina had life-changing experiences when they visited this tower. In Hadley’s case, Howard took her to this tower to watch the sun rise. It was while they were there that Hadley realized that she loved Howard. One morning when Lina was particularly sad, she went to this tower to watch the sun rise just as her mother had. She felt unable to go on without her mother but sensed a voice telling her to watch the sunrise. Lina also finished reading her mother’s journal while she was on the tower. When she was done, she understood why her mother had left Howard and why she had never allowed Matteo to have any part of her life.
