Lost and Found by Carolyn Parkhurst is a story that traces the adventures of multiple pairs of contestants as they work their way through a game show by the same name. Selected for their potential for conflict under stress, team members must work together to decipher clues, unravel keywords and complete challenges that will test their meddle at every turn. At the conclusion of each round, the last pair to reach the meeting place is eliminated. Everyone wants to stay in the game.

Each of the characters face challenges, as they travel from one culture to another, tasked with unraveling clues that will lead them to the items they must collect as they go along. Each leg of the game takes them to another culture, and the author is adept at drawing the reader into each country by revealing some of the challenges associated. Many of the tasks the contestants are asked to complete are related to the country they are in.
