How is Jack a savage leader in Lord of the Flies?

He is power hungry and is not above abusing others to get what he wants...when he wants it. Jack is corrupted by his power and this grows even stronger when he kills the pig. The act of taking life sets him along the road of becoming more superstitious and savage in his predilections and his power. He has the boys leave offerings for the beast, and sits like a savage ruler at the head of his group.
