Which character in the novel Lord of the Flies do we feel the most sympathy for?

and why? Thank you for answering, I'm really stuck with this question

Personally, I would choose Piggy. From the start, we are aware that he isn't cut out to survive in the wild. He is 'everyman' to some extent; the civilized part of mankind that wouldn't make it without the creature comforts. Piggy is unable to adapt or adjust, and as a result, he becomes an outcast, and in the end.... he is killed. It is easy to like Piggy because he is a good person and no one (except Ralph) seems to like him. They use him at most. Everyone can identify with being the odd man out.
