Who is Mikey from the nonfiction book, Lone Survivor?

Mikey was Marcus' best friend. His real name was Lieutenant Michael Patrick Murphy. At the book opened, Marcus was on his way to Long Island to talk with Mikey's mother and fiancee. The man was greatly loved. He really enjoyed reading, and he was a very experienced soldier who could keep his cool in tough situations. He fought hard even after he was fatally wounded. Marcus loved the way that Mikey made him laugh. The man was a responsible, natural leader. As the team members were shot down and surrounded by Taliban fighters with their communication radios gone, Mikey made a decision to use a cell phone to call in for backups. He knew this call would cost him his life because he had to step away from his shelter and out into the open to get a signal for the call. He did it without bravado and was shot, but he continued to relay the message. He died a true hero.
