The circus was a recurring idea in the book. A great way to gain popularity is through circuses. The greater the show, the greater the reputation of the leader. It is the responsibility of the leaders to establish the shows and to direct the itinerary for each day. Julius Caesar is known for creating grand gladiatorial shows and Vespasian would even take requests from the audience and do his best to honor each one. This adds to their popularity and the people enjoy themselves.
