How can we describe Tita, from the book 'Like Water for Chocolate'?

Tita is the youngest of Mama Elena's children. She is obedient, stubborn, and ultimately, rebellious. She is completely in love with Pedro but forbidden to marry him by her mother, who says that Tita muct remain unmarried and care for her. Pedro marries Tita's sister.
