More specifically than earth, many poems make reference to New York City as a setting. Such poems include “Don’t You Wonder, Sometimes?,” “Savior Machine,” “Solstice,” and “Aubade.” While the city environment is not focused on in great detail in most of these pieces, references to places in New York, such as Jay Street, Smith Street, and JFK Airport are made, grounding these poems within the urban setting. The speaker’s apartment is also located within the city.
