Life of Pi

Life of Pi 88-91 pg. 299-322

Think about the question Pi asks this fellow castaway, " Have you ever killed a man?" and the answer "A man and a woman." What eventually happens to this castaway. Now, think about how many animals were on the boat with Pi in the beginning. What had happened to them? What similarities are there in these two situations?

The Frenchman is another castaway, who meets Pi while rowing while they are both suffering from blindness. The Frenchman has decidedly carnivorous taste, and he tries to kill and eat Pi. He steps into Richard Parker's territory, however, and so is killed.
