What happens to Cochran and Miryea at the cabin in the novel, Legends of the Fall?

Three men break into the cabin while Cochran and Miryea are sleeping. Tibey slashes Miryea's lip to scar, as the Elephant and Tibey beat Cochran. The Crazy One then gives Miryea an injection before the men load them into the trunk of the limo.
