The point of view of this novel is third person omniscient. This point of view works in this novel not only because it allows an intimacy between the reader and the characters, but also because it allows the reader to see the actions of the plot through many eyes, allowing the reader to learn information important to the plot that might not be available through only one narrator. The reader not only sees the story through the main characters, Jack and Alicia, but also through the eyes of their enemies, as well.
