OSCRO is an acronym for the Oglala Sioux Civil Rights Organization. The group has been established by a number of old chiefs, medicine men and traditional Indians seeking fair treatment by the tribal presidents. Pedro Bissenette serves as the head of the organization. He is a very influential leader and participates in many AIM rallies. He is also present at the siege at Wounded Knee. Pedro is one of Mary's closest friends, she even names her son after Pedro.
