The green and yellow colors Madame Claire sees in her visions symbolize human interconnectivity. While Maddie believes Madame Claire's insistence on these colors only forces the individual to make sense of them, the reader finds herself noticing how these colors recur in each the character's narratives. No matter the exact objects attached to the colors, their reappearance and repetition solidifies the links between each of their lives, and therefore, the impact they have on one another.
