Why does the Duchess of Berwick claim to feel totally secure at the Windemeres' house in the novel, Lady Windermere’s Fan?

The Duchess claims to feel safe there because Lady Windemere is so exclusive about her guests. She claims she will admit no one scandalous, and this makes the Duchess confident that she can bring her husband and daughter to the Windemeres' house without risk.
