Bubonic Plague is a disease transmitted through rodents and fleas, characterized by swollen lymph nodes, or buboes. The plague thrived in Elizabethan England because of the extreme filth in the city, and was usually considered a death sentence if contracted. Today, the disease is curable by taking antibiotics if detected early enough.
