Stalin's private villa was located in Sochi. It was a lavish mountain home that had been painted forest green to camouflage it within a grove of cypress trees. In addition to camouflaging the exterior, there were several curious security features. The drapes were short so no one could hide behind them. There were no rugs, so Stalin could hear someone approaching. The backs of the sofas were bulletproof, and designed to be high enough so that Stalin's head was not visible when he was seated.
