Who is Charles Whitehorn from the nonfiction book, Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI?

Charles Whitehorn was a member of the Osage tribe and one of the earliest victims of the Reign of Terror. Whitehorn disappeared shortly before Anna Brown and was found dead around the same time. Whitehorn’s murder, coupled with Anna’s, triggered a series of investigations. Though Agent White and others from the Bureau of Investigations initially focused on Whitehorn’s murder, they never definitively solved the case. Grann speculates that Whitehorn was killed by his wife in cooperation with other white members of the community.
