Is Brutus justified in criticizing Cassius for taking bribes?

Brutus put honor above all else, but their argument was about one of Cassius' friends, who was accused of taking bribes. Cassius wished his friend released, and Brutus refused..... Caesar had been killed for the same kind of behavior. Brutus was no hypocrite.
