Johnny is a fourteen old apprentice in the Lapham household. He is studying the art of silversmithing under Mr. Lapham, who owns a silver shop if Boston. The Laphams plan on marrying Johnny to their daughter Cilla. After their marriage, Johnny can take over the family business.
