Why do Grace and Jane go to Paris in the novel, Jane's Melody?

Grace is Jane’s best friend and sponsor. She helps Jane deal with the struggle of Melody’s addiction and her subsequent death. Grace is Jane’s rock. Jane always goes to her for advice. Grace develops a brain tumor, which she keeps a secret until her health begins to deteriorate rapidly. Grace asks Jane to go to Paris with her because she has always wanted to go and wishes to see it before she dies. Her death is the catalyst that makes Jane move on with her life.
