Who is Stanislaus Joyce from James Joyce and what is their importance?

Stanislaus Joyce was more than Joyce's younger brother..... he was one of his closest friends. Stanislaus always felt as if he was living in his older brother's shadow, but he was extremely talented in his own right. During Joyce's life, he often took advantage of Stanislaus goodness, borrowing money that was never repaid and using him for his own ends. Stanislaus spent most of World War I in work camps because of his political beliefs. He later married.
