The schoolhouse is where Jackself goes to school. It is suggested to be located in the same village as Lamanby, within a somewhat close proximity to the house. The schoolhouse is the setting of several poems, including “Lessons,” “Cheapjack,” and “The Desk.” Overall, the schoolhouse is a location where Jackself feels very out of place as he frequently finds himself alone there and ridiculed by the other students, as well as his teacher and the headmaster.
