What comment does Grandfather make regarding Ishi's eating after he returns from his journey?

After Ishi returns from his journey, Grandfather says that Ishi eats "like the First People." When the First People were fed hot food, they ate until the food baskets were empty. Presumably, Ishi is hungry and eating a lot of food as well.
