Cincinnatus says the land he sees from the prison roof is bewitching. He sees the town in the distance and the surrounding hills. He also seems to be able to see the landscape in impossible detail. The hills look mysterious, and the clouds cast shadows across fields and meadows to the north. He also sees an airport with an old and decrepit airplane.
