Blending in is difficult at times, and John's first day is one of those times. One of the first few people he meets is the school bully. Every school has one, and Mark James has the distinction of being the bully in Paradise. To make matters worse, John's first Legacy asserts itself on his first day of school, his hands suddenly beginning to glow and burn.
