On John and Henri's home planet, Lorien, the people had used and abused the planet until it was almost destroyed. But, all of the people of the planet came together and all agreed to start living in harmony with their planet, stopped polluting and engaging in activities that was killing their land. In time it became a paradise. This didn't last, however, as a neighboring planet, Mogadar, continued to pillage and exploit the resources of their planet and in doing so, destroyed it. They wander the galaxy looking for resources. Since Lorien was the closest to their own, they invaded and took Lorien by surprise. In desperation, and to attempt to salvage what was left of their race, 10 children were selected and 'gifted' certain additional abiltiies so that one day they could unite and return to Lorien to save it.
