• Another religious leader, Sufi Mohammad, declared from jail that no one should educate girls, and Fazlullah began calling for an end to girls’ schools.

• Soon Fazlullah’s followers began killing political activists and a man in Swat was kidnapped for allegedly helping the army locate Taliban bases.
