What is the theme in I Am Legend by Richard Matheson?

One of the biggest themes is prejudice. Richard's blind hatred for the vampires leads him to begin killing the mutant vampires, which makes him a monster.

Another theme is isolation and loneliness. Being alone begins to drive Richard crazy and he has to surround himself with chores and monotonous activities to keep going.
