- a small cave that he decides to carefully climb to in spite of a powerful sense of reluctance . Once inside the cave he unpacks his bundle of belongings, placing its contents carefully where he can see them, and thinks about the camp from which he came and what advantages and skills he has, including the various languages he learned from listening and talking to the other prisoners in the camp.
