Who is The Lions and Tigers and Bears from The Rise of Endymion and what is their importance?

Lions and Tigers and Bears is the name given to the mysterious entities found by the Core to use the Void Which Binds. They subsequently lock the Core out of the Void and move Earth to the Lesser Magellanic Cloud. These entities are considered to be members of an extremely advanced civilization.
