In the book, Hullabaloo in the Guava Orchard, the monkeys are not too far removed from mankind's behavior. When the main character goes to live in the trees with the monkeys he adopts many of their ways. Interestingly enough a good example of monkeys being like men (and vice versa) is when the monkeys rob the villagers and take their whiskey to get drunk.
