Hunt’s tattoos symbolize his enslavement and lack of agency over his life. After failing in Shahar’s rebellion, Hunt becomes enslaved to Sandriel, and later Micah. This is a significant barrier in his life as he is bound to his master’s wishes and cannot live a life of his own until he is freed.
