What does Koly learn during her first meeting with her husband in the novel, Homeless Bird?

Koly first meets her husband, Hari, when she hears him coughing and decides to go see him despite Sass' warnings. He seems pleased to see her and tells her that he is going to die. He also tells her that his parents plan to take him to the Ganges in hopes that it will heal him. Hari, however, expects to die and is at peace with the idea of having his ashes scattered over the holy city of Varanasi.
