Friedman is the film executive who agrees to produce Pinchot's film, which is based on Chinaski's script. Friedman's character is based on Menachem Golan, who was a partner in Cannon Films. Described as large man, Friedman is also portrayed as a bully, who is self-indulgent, controlling and insensitive.
