Socrates was an Athenian. He spent time disputing issues pertaining to philosophy and was condemned to death in 399 B.C. when he was around seventy. Authors differed in terms of their opinion of him, portraying him differently in various dramas. He dressed poorly as he cared little for his appearance. He was indifferent to heat , cold, hunger and thirst while also being restraint in love.
