Who is Corineus from The History of the Kings of Britain and what is their importance?

Corineus is the leader of the exiled Trojans. Brutus encounters him in Mauretania, where Corineus proves to be a man brave in battle, who enjoys wrestling giants. He quickly becomes Brutus' right-hand man and trusted friend. Cornwall is named after him.
