Who is Regina from Hideaway and what is their importance?

Regina is a young orphan, who has a deformed hand and walks with a limp. She was previously hurt by an adoption gone bad, in which, the couple who were going to adopt her changed their minds. This causes her to act out with the Harrisons, in a bid to protect herself from additional hurt.
