The Mask

The mask is a symbol of intimidation. Chelsea’s abductor wears this mask not because he is afraid that Chelsea will recognize him or that she will be able to describe him to law enforcement but because it makes him appear more intimidating. He has studied the techniques of torture and uses every method that he can in order to make Chelsea fear him.
