The legal papers represent undesired authority. Morgan presents these legal papers to Tyler Green because he is so far behind in child support. Tyler, however, has the attitude that he is being hounded by the police and that he should not have to pay his wife to help take care of his children. He attacks Morgan because he sees her as his enemy for tricking him into taking the papers. Harold’s behavior when Lance and Morgan begin asking about his whereabouts on the night of Chelsea’s death is similar to Tyler’s behavior. Even though Harold has been convicted of a brutal rape, he makes it clear that he resents the fact that he will be questioned about and suspected of other brutal acts because of his criminal history.
