Henry David Thoreau

How is 'Walden' similar to Emerson's essay on Nature? - how is it different?

Both essays are inspired by the transcendentalism movement. They also convey similar themes, dealing with the idea of nature. The main difference between the two writers is that Thoreau takes a hands-on approach in his belief of ‘transcendentalism’..... he lives it. Emerson, on the other hand, supports the idea fails to put it into action.
