Another theme in this book is living on the fringes. The story of the Hell's Angels is both clique and otherworldly. The ordinary person cannot begin to grasp what it would be live to live a fragile existence that is not living from paycheck to paycheck like many people. Instead, it is living from one day to the next, making it from Monday to Tuesday. Danger is always lurking. Friends and enemies alike are armed and dangerous. The men who became Angels were men who could not fit into regular society or perhaps did not want to or both.
