In Chapter One, Bill became an extern or non-paid intern in Batali's signature restaurant, Babbo and worked in the prep kitchen, preparing the food for the chefs. Work in the prep kitchen taught bill that he should have his own knives and he also learned about carving ducks, how to find oysters, and how to use a knife properly to cut vegetables.
