What drives Ophelia mad?

Ophelia goes mad (insane) because she's losing everything else. Her father is murdered by Hamelt and her true love (Hamlet) rejects her. Prior to this she has had to watch Hamlet's decline and suffer the rumors that everyone is circulating about him.
