Jared Diamond explores the idea that geographical and environmental factors lead to a faster progression of certain civilizations throughout history. Guns, Germs and Steel illustrates that due to some societies’ access to a variety of wildlife and favorable climates they developed into a sedentary lifestyle much earlier. This lifestyle promoted technological improvements in agricultural, religion, warfare and even the creation of germs; all of which played a dramatic role in their conquest of less advanced societies.
