What is the setting of Guards! Guards! by Terry Pratchett?

The setting takes place on a mythical world called Discworld in the city of Ankh-Morpork. The city has taverns and houses and a palace where the Patrician lives. The city has no king but has many of the aspects that you would find in a kingdom. There are many magical elements in the city which adds to the plot of the dragon becoming king.
