Describe the location of Grendel’s home.

Grendel’s cave is located in a mere, a type of swampy abysmal place where nothing much dares to tread. The cave is below the surface of the waters and entrance is gained only after swimming through a variety of unsavory water creatures. The worst of these seem to be the firesnakes, which even Grendel is at first afraid of. The cave itself is dark and damp decorated with the cast off bones of dead animals and men.
