What do you know about the two convicts? What is the relationship between them?

In Chapter Five, we learn that the two convicts share a past history... that one of the convicts (who we later learn is Magwitch) was betrayed by the other.

"Do you see what a villain he is? Do you see those grovelling and wandering eyes? That's how he looked when we were tried together. He never looked at me".
